Vacation was wonderful, even with the rain and winds that come with hurricanes/tropical storms. We did get to explore a bit of Bermuda, and I have to say that Bermudians are some of the classiest people I have ever met.
Then again, I never ran into Ross Perot or Catherine Zeta-Jones.
We did spent a lot of time in the resort so we befriended a lot of the staff, which came in handy at cocktail hour. I don't even know how much champagne I had our last night there, but I'm happy to report that it was yummy.
(Imagine some sort of segue here)
November is a huge month in the online world. You may remember that last year I participated in NaNoWriMo and though I didn't end up with a 50,000 word Great American Novel I did end up with 16,035 words that sometimes don't make me want to stab my eyeballs with a sharp pencil. But, yes, most of the time it was bad - spectacularly bad. I guess that means I failed. But I did learn a lesson about being realistic about how much I can accomplish in a day, and 1,700 words of fiction is not it.
So this year, I've decided to leave NaNoWriMo to the truly dedicated. I flirted with the idea of doing NaBloPoMo--but let's face it, I'll never post every day and I've decided to stay away from the computer on the weekends. So that leaves me with the NoBloShoeMo Flickr pool. Thirty days of shoes? I can do that!
My first contribution? My slippers, because they're toasty.
