Let Me Introduce You to L'Bel

This is a compensated review by BlogHer and L'Bel.

***UPDATE: Contest ends at 11:59 PM EST on 1/08/10. Comments are now closed. Thank you for participating -- a winner will be announced tomorrow!

The backstory: I received $200 worth of L'Bel products and a small stipend to share my opinion on the L'Bel line. Read on for a chance to win a product package for yourself that's even bigger than what I received. I'm totally jealous!

Have you heard about L'Bel?

No?

Neither had I, until I was given the chance to test their products. The company describes itself as

...a brand developed with the support of the prestigious Centre de Biodermatologie des Laboratoires Serobiologiques and Sederma Socete d’Etudes Dermatologiques. The latest scientific innovations are incorporated into each product, creating a beauty regimen for radiant skin that withstands the passage of time.

Phew! That is quite the introduction! It certainly sounds French. But I know what you're thinking, what are the products like? I have to tell you, I was impressed with what I got to try. Let me tell you about them for a bit, and then you can enter a contest to win even more products so you can try them for yourself.

Essential Exfoliating Balancing Cream

This cream cleanser was a nice surprise -- I usually stay away from scrubs because I find that they're too harsh. This one is very gentle and -- surprise! -- moisturizing. I totally appreciate this, since I'm currently suffering the side effects of indoor heating.

Essential Astringent-Balancing Lotion Toner

I'm not going to lie: I don't buy toners. I hate that they're drying and smell like alcohol. This one has a very light fragrance and didn't make my face tight.

Collagenesse Facial Corrector Lotion for Wrinkles with Double Fill Effect

Anti-aging treatments are my passion and this one is impressive. I can't tell you if it fills wrinkles because I've only been using it for a few days, but I can tell you that it has an incredibly light texture and just melts into the skin. The packaging is very nice -- it would make a nice gift for that beauty junkie in your life. (Maybe you?)

Regression Jour

I do not leave my house without some sun protection on my face. I love that this cream has an SPF of 15 and also has seaweed to add a nice moisturizing effect. (It doesn't smell like seaweed, so don't fear!) The lotion absorbs quickly, so I'm able to put on my makeup quickly -- a plus in the mornings, when time is tight.

Regression Yeux

This eye cream is meant to fight the first signs of aging. I've only used it for a few days, so I can't comment on that (though a girl can hope -- cross your fingers for me!) but I loved the texture of this cream, and it definitely kept the eye area moisturized overnight. It's light enough that I wore it under eye makeup with no problems.

Divinesse Luminesse

This is a body lotion with the best scent -- it's not perfume-y or fruity or cloyingly sweet. It just smells clean and pretty. But the best part is that it will make you sparkle! No really, it has little sparkly bits in it which is fun, and somehow the effect is less disco queen and classier than you'd expect. This might be my favorite product of the bunch.

Volume Cils XP Voluminous Mascara

You know how mascara can make your lashes all clumpy and irritate your eyes? This one didn't do that. I liked it, even though I didn't notice any "volumizing" effect. I was left with darker, prettier lashes and the product stayed on until I washed it off. What more could you ask for?

Now that you know a little bit about the products, Let L'Bel Spoil You!

But let's get real here -- who has the money to spend on something as frivolous as beauty?
