It's 10/10/10 -- how perfect is that?
I'm celebrating today by committing to ten things I want to accomplish before New Year's Eve 2010.
(The numbers in parentheses correspond to the number on my randomly-numbered life list)
#1 knit a scarf (38)
This one. My friend Stefanie has promised to teach me to knit in exchange for cupcakes. Yay!
#2 cut my hair short (39) and #3 donate my hair to locks of love (30)
I hope to have a pigtail that is long enough to donate by December. I've already started taking biotin supplements to help me achieve that. As far as my "short" cut, I don't think I'll go pixie but this is still haunting my dreams.
I know it's shameful.
My husband and various friends have volunteered their services.
#5 paint my nails black (8)
The point of this is to learn to give myself a decent enough manicure that I'll be able to paint my own nails in a deep color. Anyone can paint their nails in a nude pink, but black? That takes real skill.
#6 finish c25K (14)
I'm on week 6 despite spraining my ankle so I'm almost there. This is really happening, you guys.
#7 get 10 hours of sleep a night for 10 nights in a row (16)
I'm still at the mercy of a certain baby's sleep schedule (or rather, lack thereof) but I've decided to go to bed for 10 days at a time that would technically afford me ten hours of uninterrupted sleep. That would be 9 pm.
This better be good.
#8 learn to use my DSLR (18)
The For Dummies people gave me this book, so maybe I'll finally figure out what the heck aperture is.
#9 learn to sew (42)
#10 write here every day (51)
I'm a creature of habit. It's easier for me to do something daily than to do it occasionally. I'm not promising a daily masterpiece, but something will be here every day until 12/31/10. It's part of my commitment to consuming less and creating more. Wish me luck.
I think that's it. I'll report on my progress on 12/31/10.
