Hello! How are you?
Fine? That's great.
As for me? Well, I'm not going to mince words. I'm freezing my butt off over here. Our highs are in the twenties this week, so I am dressing for warmth.
Thankfully, this is also the week that Yummie Tummie sent me a pair of their shaping leggings to try. Wanna see how I wore them?
Crazy knit hat, cozy sweater, woolen ballerina flats (which were replaced with sheepskin boots when I had to venture outdoors...BRR!), a long tunic and the Yummie Tummie shaping leggings make a perfect snowy day outfit. All I need is some Glühwein and I'm set!
Layers are a necessity when it's cold, but I hate feeling bulky -- wearing two of everything really restricts your ability to move and thus cramps my style. This is the genius behind the shaping leggings -- they're not as constricting as heavy-duty shapewear so they're comfortable, but give you a nice sleek line under your layers so you can actually move.
In case you were wondering, the Yummie Tummie leggings are true leggings and could be worn by themselves if it's not as cold where you live as it is here in Boston -- they're nice and opaque (though mine have a bit of shimmer to them) so your underwear won't show through.
Unfortunately, I am firmly in the no-leggings-as-outerwear camp, so you won't see me wearing these out, but if you're into leggings these are a nice option. I'll even model them for you. See?
I'd totally wear these under a dress -- I could pair them with boots and I'd be nice and toasty. But I refuse to take off my shoes lest my toes freeze, so I'm still wearing the same flats. The dress/tights/flats combo is playful and very comfortable.
(Unfortunately, I don't know what the heck is going on with my feet. Modeling is hard work, yo.)
Now, anyone wanna come over and help me hang up my pictures? I can offer you some nice mulled wine!
