So now that we've gone over the cake, decorations and the entertainment, there's only one thing left to cover.
Care to take a guess what that is?
That's right -- goody bags!
We all know that kids love goody bags filled with lots of cheap little trinkets. I'm not a fan of junky gifts -- in the past we've given away one big thing, either books or a thermos, something tangible. Many moms have thanked me for keeping it simple.
But this year I was stumped on what to give. It's not like I was going to send a bunch of four year olds home with leather whips. (Or maybe I should have. He he.) So I decided to go old-school, but with an Indy twist.
As you can see, the favor bags were plain brown paper bags -- the kinds our moms used for school lunches. We decorated them with Indy stickers purchased on eBay. But these aren't just any stickers -- they're candy wrappers that go right over Hershey miniature chocolates.
Clever, don't you think?
So we sent the kids home with "Indiana Jones" chocolates and a few other goodies:
- Inflatable globes
- Chinese yoyos (instead of whips - but you flick the in the same way)
- Miniature Notebooks and markers (to track their adventures)
And that's it! It was super easy and a lot of fun.
