Tackle The Little Things Day. Everyday tip #73

I was scanning this book (it was sent to me by the publisher, but this isn't a review because I haven't read it) and when I read this line, the skies parted and the angels sang.
Regardless of the size or scope of the tasks to be completed, unfinished business causes constant stress and distraction.

I know, this is ridiculously and incredibly obvious, but I've been so stressed lately and I didn't know why. It took that line to make me realize that I'm not overwhelmed by any major projects, but I'm overwhelmed by all the little unfinished tasks that keep nagging at me. All these little things are robbing me of my energy, which is in particularly short order this week (thank you, Daylight Savings Time!).

So I took action. I made a list of all the little things that have been nagging at me. I won't share it, because the things are so little as to be pathetic*, but I wrote every little one of them down, and I have designated the next 24 hours as Tackle The Little Things Day.

My goal is to scratch as many of those little to-do items off my list as I can. It's a little competition I'm having with myself, and no matter what happens, I win.

*Oh, OK...I'll share ONE. Number 1 is "get a bang trim" -- see what I mean about it being little things? All I had to do was call the salon and schedule it. I've been meaning to do this for two weeks. Two weeks that I have lived with bangs in my eyes. Two wasted weeks where, whenever I had a moment to myself, the first thought that came to mind was "I need to get my bangs cut." That's sad. Let's be honest, that's pathetic. All it took was a 2 minute phone call. And as of this friday, the hair will be out of my eyes. I like this tip already.
