His final resting place was a place he loved, Biscayne Bay.
It was beautiful.
Let me tell you about Mira Jacob’s Good Talk - @goodtalkthanks :.
- It's a graphic memoir told via the awkward conversations we all have around race. It's so timely it's scary.
. - It's funny. Really! It made me cry. I saw myself in multiple people, and not all were who I would expect. I bet you'll have the same experience.
- You can and should read it in one sitting. And when you finish you'll flip it over and start it over again. I promise you will want more time in this world.
- My favorite person by far was mean Ms. Morrell (swipe for her intro). The one that looks like E.T., but meaner. I had a Ms. Morrell in my life and had forgotten about her until I read the book. Sometimes the mean teachers are the ones that change your life. This was a chapter that made me cry tears of nostalgia and recognition and anger and love.
- Oh, and this part is wild - I'm in it. No, I'm not a part of the author's life (I wish!). But because the world is strange and wonderful my face ended up in it. In multiple places! Like I said, weird and wonderful. Buy it and see if you can find me. I wonder who's going to play "me" when it gets made into a television series, because it will be. Are you listening, Hollywood? These are the stories we want.
