I always open up my Gilt home emails with detached curiosity -- I've yet to make a purchase, I confess, because impulse shopping for luxury housewares is a bit beyond even me -- but I like looking at what's out there in the world of high-end furnishings. I'm quite tired of the avalanche of Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel catalogs, so the Gilt stuff is usually harmless eye candy.
Harmless, because I never really fall in love with any of the stuff so there's no danger of me whipping out the debit card. At least, that was the case until today.
Did you see the Julian Chinchester desk? Isn't it divine?
Too bad it's $4,500 retail (and "only" $1,980 at Gilt!). I know exactly where it would go in my home, just not where the cash to pay for it will.
But, hey! At least I now know that there's desk out there that's perfect for me. That's worth something, right?
(Here's a link to the manufacturer's site in case you're not a Gilt member.)
