To celebrate my thirty-fifth birthday I'm sharing a list of thirty-five things I am grateful for. Because I can.

  1. Being alive. It's almost been a year, and I'm still not over the shock that time is truly limited. But I'm constantly working on being more conscious about it.

  2. The family I created. My kids and my husband are my everyday.

  3. The family I was born into. My mom, my sister and brother -- they're my anchors.

  4. Happy kids. You know those days when the kids are happy?

  5. My friends. All of you.

  6. Puppy dogs. I still want one.

  7. The internet. You mean I can buy shoes online and they'll be at my house the next day? MAGIC

  8. Blogging. It has, quite literally, given me a voice.

  9. The work life I have created for myself. I work and have worked with some of the most amazing people in the planet.

  10. Chocolate. My drug of choice.

  11. Yoga. I love how it makes me feel -- powerful.

  12. Pilates. My indulgence.

  13. Ballet. I'm horrible at it, but it's so beautiful I just like to try.

  14. Latin Music. If you get it, you get it. If you don't, it probably annoys you. But trust me, you're missing out.

  15. Beds. Man, I love beds.

  16. The color orange. I think I have a problem.

  17. Books. The kind that you can't put down.

  18. The DVR. Without it, I'd never catch anything on TV. Ever.

  19. Magazines. What else would I take into the bath with me.

  20. Scented bath stuff.

  21. Champagne.

  22. Nail polish. The easiest, cheapest way to cheer me up -- nail polish with funny names.

  23. Travel. I don't get to to it often, but when I do it I always feel more like me. That's kinda weird, huh?

  24. Homemade bread. OMG.

  25. Peanut butter. I love it.

  26. Things kids say. I don't know about your kids, but mine are hi-larious!

  27. My iPhone. Without it, I'd be lost.

  28. The right words at the right time.

  29. Coffee that I don't have to make myself.

  30. Christmas. I love it.

  31. The beach.

  32. Gin cocktails.

  33. Pens. I like writing by hand.

  34. Cashmere in the winter.

  35. Freedom to be lazy. Aahh...
