Beauty update: Little treats that smell delicious

It's been a while since I've posted about items in my beauty closet, so I thought I'd share three little things that I love because they smell really good.

You guys know how I love to spoil myself at home -- one of my favorite things to do is to take a bedtime bath. It's such an easy way to clean the slate -- I can feel my tensions from the day melt away. Aaah...

Scent is a big part of my relaxation ritual, and these are my current sweet-smelling favorites:

  • Lush Brazened Honey Mask: Who doesn't love Lush? I don't buy these very often because they have a relatively short shelf life (they need to be kept in the refrigerator) -- in fact, if you let this one go bad the spicy honey scent goes rancid quickly -- but I love the fact that it's so fresh and that when I use it my face seems to perk up immediately. And what good is a bubble bath without a scary-looking face mask? That's half the fun! (A trashy novel is the other half.)

  • Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Creme Body Wash: I just have a wee tiny sample that I got for free, but the scent is delicious and because I'm a rebel and a rule breaker, I use it in the bath and not the shower. (I'm not really a rule breaker.) I love the coconut scent -- it makes me feel like I'm on a tropical vacation, even if I'm just in my bathtub in suburban Boston. But when I close my eyes, I'm close enough!

  • Melvita Moisturizing Rose nectar: This is a new brand for me, but when they approached me and told me about their organic and natural philosophy I agreed to try them out. This cream is my favorite -- it really does smell like a rose, but a real one! It's really subtle and lovely. I have to admit that I'm also breaking the rules here and I don't wear this during the day because it doesn't have an SPF, but I do like this as light nighttime moisturizer. I feel so glamorous when I go to bed smelling like a sweet rose.
