Creativity is a verb.

We went to the ICA’s Less is a Bore: Maximalist Art and Design exhibit and it got me thinking about how much time we spend learning to stay proper and tasteful, to color within the lines - but we end up admiring those that are courageous enough to break through.

Maximalism is about a lot of things (ha!) but mostly it’s about not minimizing your expression of yourself. I loved that!

Sometimes I worry that creativity is selfish or egocentric - when in fact, creativity is inherently generous. The more you let it pour out of you, the more you get back.

That is why creativity is a practice - not a gift. There are no special creative people - there are people who live creatively. Creativity is a verb, not a noun. It’s an action word.

How about challenging yourself to do something creative every day?

A little creativity goes a long way.
