The Things They Carried
This book, written by Tim O'brien, is mainly about the author's journey in the Vietnam war. In this book there are many stories of what Obrien and others went through in the war. Each chapter is a different story, in addition to these stories, he talks about his relationship with his daughter. A story that I remember is the one where one of the soldier's fiance went to Vietnam to visit him. And as she is there she turns into almost a soldier herself. In other words she became very passionate about the war, and she stopped taking care of herself and stopped putting on makeup. This story shows how war can negatively, but also positively affect people. We also watched a TED Talk where a man named Sebastian Junger talks about how soldiers tend to miss war when they get back home. I liked The book and the unit.
